Rooted Androids are not Qualified for Google Movie Rental Service

It is nice to watch movie legally on any Android devices at low cost by Google Movie Rental Service. Google launched it at Google I/O and is only available in Motorola Xoom 3.1 now. All other Android mobile phones and tablets over Android 2.2 froyo will get it in couple of weeks for <$2. But there is one very bad news who have already rooted there Android gadgets. Google placed a roadblock for you if you're trying to watch movies rented from YouTube / Android Market. However it will not be working on rooted devices due to copyright violation concerns. You will see Error 49 as support page states-
You’ll receive this “Error 49″ message if you attempt to play a movie on a rooted device. Rooted devices are currently unsupported due to requirements related to copyright protection.
what is error 49 in android movie rental GSMArena are guessing this is done to stop apps that can just copy the rented movie and let you keep it forever. But is an unexpected move from Google for their open source Android OS because even other movie rental services for mobiles such as iTunes and Netflix hasn't put a stop for rooted or jailbroken devices. Google blames the movie studios for the policy.
