AT&T release cheapest Android 4G smartphone, Huawei Impulse 4G costs $30

The battle of the budget droids in the US got even more interesting today, as AT&T announced the latest addition to its Android collection - the Huawei Impulse 4G.

at&t impulse 4g feature reviewThe device is essentially a renamed Huawei IDEOS X5 - an entry level Android, which offers quite a lot of features. The device is powered by a Qualcomm CPU, clocked at 800MHz, and has 512MB of RAM on board. The screen is 3.8" unit with WVGA resolution. A 5MP autofocus camera, capable of shooting 720p videos at 30fps, will be in charge of capturing your memories. All this functionality will come in a package, weighing 130 grams.

The Huawei Impulse 4G will come with Android 2.2 Froyo(hoping for Gingerbread in future) out of the box. As far as the 4G moniker goes, don't let it fool you that the device is LTE capable. In the case of the Huawei Impulse 4G, it is HSPA+ connectivity with speeds up to 14.4 Mbps.
The Huawei Impulse 4G will be available on September 18 for the highly affordable $29.99 on a two-year contract with AT&T, making it one quite attractive entry-level Android smartphone.
