Samsung again confirms that Android ICS isn’t for Galaxy S

Update: Value pack is also not possible for Galaxy S, Samsung confirmed later.
Samsung already played some games with Samsung Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab 7.0 owners regarding Ice Cream Sandwich update. At first they said that these two devices are not compatible with Android ICS because of TouchWiz. Then they said they reconsider their chance. Now they are saying the Samsung I9000 Galaxy S will get a Value pack update, instead of the real Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Samsung decided that the I9000 Galaxy S hardware would be unable to provide satisfactory user experience with Android 4.0 ICS and TouchWiz on top. So it appears that the two most famous Android devices won't get an official taste of the latest Android ROM.

What is new value pack about? The value pack update is said to improve the user experience by bringing some of the ICS features to the Gingerbread ROM. Better web browsing, multi-tasking and new widgets were explicitly mentioned, but there's no saying if other apps will be updated as well.

Fortunately the Galaxy S is fully capable of running the stock ICS, as proved by the guys over at XDA. If you want to do it now then check this link to install Android Ice Cream Sandwich firmware on your Samsung Galaxy S II.

Samsung already shipped 1 million Galaxy Note

Samsung Galaxy Note is the only device in its class, a hybrid of smartphone and tablet running Android. Samsung released it only two months ago and already reached the dream number of 1 million. I called it dream number because of two facts. Galaxy Note is not available everywhere yet and it is a pricy gadget, not everyone can afford it. In fact it is not released in US so far. The number of units shipped is always more substantial than the number devices out there in end-users' hands, but it always reflects the people’s demand for the gadget.

Samsung Electronics Ships over 1 Million Units of Galaxy Note Globally

Samsung's flagship smart device Galaxy Note has reached 1 million global shipping.

Samsung Electronics said on the 29th that it has shipped more than 1 million units of Galaxy Note globally. The worldwide sales of Galaxy Note are also on the rise in Europe and Asia including France, Germany, Hongkong and Taiwan. The rapid global sales of Galaxy Note are notable since it is creating a new market for something between smartphone and tablet pc. The speed of the global sales is expected to accelerate further next year when it will be available in the US.

Recently, Financial Times reviewed highly of Galaxy Note, commenting it as"a happy medium for consumers who want to carry just one device, rather than both a smartphone and a tablet and whatever other portable gadget they pick up on their way out".

A Samsung official also said "1 million global shipping of Galaxy Note means it has well positioned itself as a market creator," also adding "Samsung will continuously strengthen its leadership in the global smartphone market as well as create new markets with innovative devices."

Need an affordable dual-SIM Android? Alcatel Blaze Duo is for you

It’s being almost a year I wrote about a dual-SIM Android mobile phone. Because there’s really nothing to write about. Now I have one from Alcatel. They already made a good number of entry level affordable Android phones, now they have one dual-SIM, dual-standby device- Alcatel Blaze Duo OT-918. It’s a cheap Android phone running Android 2.3 Gingerbread with a 650MHz processor + 256MB RAM. The screen is a 3.2" LCD with HVGA resolution, and there's also a 3MP camera, A-GPS, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and A-GPS to complete the pack.

The Alcatel Blaze Duo phones pack two SIM cards in an interesting way. Both SIMs go in the same slot, just the first one goes face down and the second one goes face up. You can use 2 normal size SIM in this slot. There are two different variants of Alcatel Blaze Duo. The OT-918N uses 850MHz/2100MHz for its 3G connectivity, while the OT-918D version uses 900MHz/2100MHz instead. It totally depends on your region. So you have nothing to worry about.
dual sim card smartphones
The Blaze Duo OT-918N is available right now in the Philippines 6000 Philippine pesos (about $140/€105). The 918D is available in Australia for $179. There's no complete information on availability elsewhere. Keep in mind that there's a single-SIM version of the phone called just OT-918, so don’t be confused.

JXD includes gamepad on their new 7-inch Android tablet

We saw lots of Android tablet out in the wild, we also saw Sony Ericsson PlayStation mobile, and we also saw Samsung making a 5.3’’ phone-tablet hybrid Galaxy Note. But I am sure that JXD done something new. They include gaming keys on the both side of their 7-inch Android running tablet. Their S7100 Android 2.2 Froyo running 7-inch tablet has the same dual-core Cortex A9 with Mali-400 GPU found under the hood of Samsung’s Galaxy S II. It also has 512MB of RAM, 16 GB internal memory, Wi-Fi and HDMI out. The device has a claimed battery life of 4 hours of web browsing and 10 hours for music playback.
where can i buy jxd 7'' android console
android tablet with playstation gaming pad
But the display of this magic device isn’t looks so pretty. The device has a 7-inch display of 800 x 480 resolutions. The controls on the side work only if you install ROMs of classic games but for titles found on the Android Market you will have to rely on the touchscreen. I think it would be great if they release some specified games for this Android console. And a release of developer code for the console will be great for many Android gamer. If you’re interested about JXD S7100 tab then you would be delighted to know that it costs only $139.99. So I think a visit to their official website isn’t a bad idea! They also posted a nice video, take a look here to see it.

LG announces update plan of Android Ice Cream Sandwich

LG made promise about Android ICS long time ago. They said us that an upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich for their phones released in 2011. Now they have just announced a release schedule for the Ice Cream Sandwich update.

The updates will start rolling out in two waves like Sony Ericsson. The first wave will begin in Q2, 2012. LG Optimus LTE, Prada phone by LG 3.0, the LG Optimus 2X, the LG Optimus Sol, the LG my Touch Q and the LG Eclipse are the first in line.

The second wave of updates will begin in Q3, 2012 and will cover the following handsets: the LG Optimus 3D, the LG Optimus Black, the LG Optimus Big, the LG Optimus Q2 and the LG Optimus EX.

Many of these devices run Android 2.2 Froyo untill now. So it seems LG skip Gingerbread for those handsets. But we are happy that LG have slowly learned the importance of timely updates and now seem to be doing an even better job compared to the likes of Samsung and HTC.

Without those rebates, the same phones cost hundreds of dollars. So it’s about money to get a phone unlocked. There is some software in the internet to do the unlocking job. But I am sorry to say that those are not risk free at all. Moreover you can lose your phone’s warranty on the process. Sometimes software updating is also blocked by this kind of attempt.

Here I am showing you a legal way to Unlock Samsung Galaxy phones. Unlocksamsung.com is one of the safest website to handle your cell phone for unlocking. They already unlocked over 2 million Galaxy phones and counting. You don’t need to hack your phone or void your warranty.

Each Samsung Galaxy has a unique "Galaxy unlock code" that must be inputted into your cell phone in order to "free" the phone's sim card from a specific service provider lock. They are the only Samsung Galaxy Unlock source that provides you with the network unlock code(NCK), phone defreeze code(MCK), Subset Unlock code(SCK), and the Service Provider Unlock code(SPCK) for unlocking Samsung phones. The Samsung Galaxy Unlocking codes are straight from the Samsung manufacturer database. Using the original Samsung Galaxy unlock tool method, you can unlock Samsung Galaxy without using any risky phone unlocking software on the device which will surely break your phone, also known as "bricking" a cell phone. The unlock Samsung online process is easier than any other GSM unlock method around.

Once you have your phone SIM unlocked, you can use it on any network service provider worldwide such as: Orange (O2 UK), T-Mobile, Sprint, AT&T, Vodafone, Virgin, Bell, TELUS, Softbank, US Cellular, Verizon, Cingular, and many more around the globe.

An unbelievable software update is out for Verizon Galaxy Nexus

*Update: International GSM version also received the Android 4.0.2 update by now. Download size is 8.7MB.
Verizon released Samsung Galaxy Nexus barely 24 hour ago but I just found that they already released a software update for the ICS running droid within 2 hours of its official release. This update makes your phone firmware version to 4.0.2 from Android 4.0.1 and build number will be ICL53F.

This update will improve your 3G/4G and WiFi connections, tweak the lockscreen somehow, and improve visual effects while using the front camera. The update size is 10.7 MB and is made available to download as soon as you activate your new device. I am hoping that same update will soon arrive at the UK version of Samsung Galaxy Nexus. International version is in the queue too. Click here to download the update instructions from Verizon itself.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus is finally official and on sale by Verizon, costs $300

We saw lots of drama in the last few days regarding Samsung Galaxy Nexus release on Verizon US network, about its name and price. But everything is end by the official announcement by Verizon itself. You can place your order for the only Android 4.0 running droid phone with next day shipping from both the Verizon on Amazon websites in the US.

Obviously you have to sign a 2 year contract with Verizon and pay $299.99 which is their normal rate for high-end phones. If signing a lengthy contract is too much boring fro you $650 is the Verizon asking price. But I have a great news for the Nexus lovers. One online retailer LetsTalk, just offering $154.99 for new Samsung Galaxy Nexus if you sign a new contract, which is nearly half the regular asking price of the smartphone. If you are a Verizon subscriber, looking to upgrade, you'd have to pay an extra $20, but the price still remains unbeatable. All you need to do to get the discounted rate from LetsTalk is insert the code $75VZN at checkout.

Verizon creates a nice simulation page for Samsung Galaxy Nexus. If you want to buy it then you can look there. If you don’t get the chance to buy it then it is compulsory for you to check the site! Because you will see the latest Android OS there. At the same time Verizon also announces the white version of Motorola DROID RAZR. Read the PR for more.

Amazon Kindle app for Android now supports PDF

Basic support to view PDF files in the Amazon Kindle app was added with the new update. Amazon rolled out two new updates of its Kindle application for Android devices. The Amazon Kindle App offers a library of several free and paid books on Android devices but supports only specific file formats. With the new Kindle App for Android v3.3.1.1, users will be able to add and open Pdf files to it. This is great news for those who have several eBooks and other documents in Pdf format.

The app will now display Pdf documents but the implementation is very basic. Users can only zoom or turn pages and do not have other fancy features for those Pdf files. Unfortunately, the Pdf support feature is not up front, which means that users will have to navigate to the Pdf file on the smartphone and then choose 'open with Amazon Kindle App' to read the document.
How to read pdf files with amazon kindle app
Apart from that, the update will let Android smartphone users customize their reading experience with new Margin and Line Spacing controls. Of course, support for Android 4.0 smartphones has been added but it came too soon. Several bug fixes have had to be made.

HTC Incredible S receives Android 2.3.5 with new HTC Sense 3.0

Good news for HTC Incredible S owners. Their droid companion just received Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread OS with new HTC Sense 3.0 UI. Reports about the OTA update have been coming from several parts of Europe. But it's not a global update yet. But there is no change log in our hand at this moment.

If you don’t see the notification of a software update yet in your HTC Incredible S yet then you can perform a manual check to see if the update has been made available to you by going to Settings -> About phone -> Software Updates and clicking Check Now.

GSMArena also said an Android 2.3.5 firmware update is also coming to the HTC Desire HD in the near future.

Samsung releases Galaxy S II HD LTE in South Korea, its white

Samsung just released two very exclusive version of there blockbuster Samsung Galaxy S II. There are many things common in these two variants. Most of all, they are white. I think this info is enough to make you mad for these babies.

The Samsung Galaxy S II HD LTE comes in all of its 4.65" Super AMOLED 1280x720 glory with a dual-core 1.5 GHz and, naturally LTE connectivity speeds. The Galaxy S II LTE has a 4.5" 480x800 display, which is about the only difference between the two. They should both be available on SK Telecom as previously told but on HSDPA and LTE, sans the CDMA.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 at last goes live in Australia

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet will finally go on sale in Australia on Monday thanks to a decision made by the country's highest court today. The Register reports that the Australian High Court has ruled that last week's lower court ruling that overturned the sales ban on the tablet will stand, despite an appeal by Apple that it be reinstated. Apple lost the appeal today which means Australians can once again find the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 on store shelves in time for the holiday season.
3G samsung galaxy tab 10.1 price in australia
The injunction against the sale of the tablet, which had been in place since August, was due to Apple's claim that Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet violated Apple's patents that it holds for iPad. Samsung has already said the Galaxy Tab 10.1 will go on sale Monday in Australian stores. Price of of the 16 GB Wi-Fi Galaxy 10.1 Tab will be $579 while the 3G version of the tablet will be on sale for $729.

So what is your choice? iPad 2 of Samsung Galaxy Tab? My vote goes for the 2nd one.
