Samsung Galaxy Camera on pictures: it’s marvelous

Samsung's Galaxy Camera may not be the first Android-powered camera on the market, just a few days ago Nikon introduced Coolpix S800c to us but we have to say that seeing Galaxy in camera world is really a surprising and wonderful thing.

Unlike photography-ready but phone-first devices like the iPhone 4S and Nokia Pureview 808, with 4G cellular connection and a rear panel that's indistinguishable from a phone, Samsung Galaxy camera is a must see device for every gadget lover. As Samsung says –‘The Samsung GALAXY Camera gives you the magic of professional digital photography with the powerful intelligence of the Android Jelly Bean OS. It’s the smartest camera ever, with stunning photographic output and a range of exceptionally rich professional shooting modes, editing features and various apps’.

What is Samsung Galaxy Camera? Is it a smallish tablet with a camera attached? Or an Android mobile with a camera attached? Or a camera with latest mobile connectivity? I don’t know! What do you think? Next few photos are only for your eyes!!

Main disadvantages of Android camera

Samsung Galaxy is now representing camera world too

Just after showing Samsung Galaxy Note II at IFA, Samsung announced Android powered Galaxy camera in front of everyone. It’s a camera having Android 4.1 Jelly Bean built in with 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi connectivity built-in. The Galaxy camera has a 1/2.3″ 16MP BSI CMOS sensor, a wide-angle lens (23mm in 35mm equivalent) and 21x optical zoom. There’s also a pop-up Xenon flash. The entire back of the camera is occupied by an edge-to-edge 4.8-inch 1,280 x 720-pixel (308 ppi) display. Having a touch-enabled viewfinder on a compact camera is certainly advantageous, I am using touch camera for the last 3 years with Sony T series. It’s awesome to focus anything I want.

There are still a few hardware buttons on board, including a flash release (there's a pop-up strobe in the top right corner), a power button, zoom toggle and shutter release. It shoots 1080p videos at 30fps, but you can also do D1 (720×480) at 120fps. The camera will automatically back up the photos you’ve taken to the cloud – which will be done over the extensive data connectivity. There’s Wi-Fi a/b/g/n and penta-band HSPA available with optional HSPA+. Other connectivity features include Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and GLONASS.
Samsung Galaxy Camera release date
You get all sorts of apps that the Galaxy S III got, including S Voice, S Planner, a browser and so on with new Galaxy camera. It is powered by a quad-core 1.4GHz processor. There’s HDMI 1.4 available to output photos and videos to a TV. You get 8GB of built-in storage, which you can expand via a microSD card slot.

The physical measurements of the camera are 128.7 x 70.8 x 19.1 mm and it weighs 305g. The battery has only 1,650mAh capacity. The Galaxy Camera will be available in Black and White. There’s no information about Samsung galaxy camera’s price or release date yet.

The GALAXY Camera's 'Smart Pro' feature makes it easy to recreate advanced photographic setups in just a few simple steps for stunning artistic results. Using the easy-to-navigate menu system, users can choose from a series of preset scenario options which will automatically adjust the camera's settings in order to capture the perfect photo. For example, the 'Rich Tone' setting delivers images with greater intensity – particularly effective for reducing overexposure in bright surroundings, while the 'Light Trace' setting automatically controls shutter speed for atmospheric night scenes full of light trails.

The GALAXY Camera's 21x optical zoom can be controlled by either button or touchscreen, rendering long-distance pictures in a quality that users will be proud to share, while OIS ensures that images stay clear and crisp. The camera's 16 Megapixel 1/2.3" BSI CMOS sensor captures images in brilliant color and resolution, while the 23mm aperture lens delivers impressive wide-angle shots incomparable to smartphone pictures.

Enjoy your photos and video on a world-leading display
The GALAXY Camera boasts large and vivid enough camera display - a 4.8"(121.2mm) HD Super Clear LCD screen, which makes it a pleasure to shoot, share and edit images from the palm of the hand. Another advantage of smartphone technology is the Voice Control option which allows the user to control a number of functions such as 'Zoom in' and 'Shoot' through voice. All these features are housed in a beautifully designed, ergonomic body with the GALAXY Camera's minimal, organic design complementing its easy-to-use professional features.

Edit and perfect images on your device
The GALAXY Camera includes a comprehensive set of 35 powerful photo editing features through the 'Photo Wizard', allowing users to make professional quality edits on the go. The new features take advantage of the ultrafast quad-core processor and HD Super Clear LCD, giving access to a feature like Auto Face Calibration so edits can be made in precise detail and with ease. The 'Movie Wizard' also allows users to create and edit expert-quality videos easily from the touch screen.

The GALAXY Camera also features 'Smart Content Manager', an innovative on-device organization tool which intelligently creates folders, tags faces, and even suggests which pictures to delete when they don't come out as desired. Thanks to the combination of wireless connectivity and Android™ 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, the internet capabilities of the GALAXY Camera are equal to those of the latest smartphone so that users can get even more enjoyment out of their device. In addition to the pre-installed applications from Samsung, users can browse the web and enjoy any applications from Google Play or Samsung Apps stores. If users are not sure which app to download, 'S Suggest' will help them recommend a new photo editing app or fun game to download.

Share your images anywhere, anytime
The camera's convenient 'Auto Cloud Backup' feature will automatically save precious photos into the cloud via Samsung's AllShare the instant they are taken. The GALAXY Camera also allows users to share photos at the same time as they shoot them with 'Share Shot.' As well as sharing to social networks and cloud services, users can also connect to a range of GALAXY devices including the GALAXY SIII and GALAXY Note II for effortless and automatic sharing of pictures across the GALAXY family. The new device enables connection to 3G or 4G, allowing photo sharing and browsing anywhere. The GALAXY Camera also functions on Wi-Fi with Dual Band and Channel Bonding for extra speed. Connectivity is supported by a quad-core processor that enables fast web-browsing and multi-tasking, as well as high-speed image processing without a significant impact on battery life.

The GALAXY Camera comes in two connectivity options: a 3G and Wi-Fi version or a 4G and Wi-Fi version.

Sony announces Xperia T: HD entertainment all around

IFA 2012 may be just begun but Sony already unveils a lot of news products in different sector. There are new 4K HD TVs, Cameras and yes, Android phones. Among all the phones Sony unveils today, Xperia T is the leader in specs sheet. The Xperia T has a 4.55-inch Reality Display having 1,280 x 720 resolution. Sony proudly calling it the "best HD experience on a phone to date." This experience is claimed mainly due to the fact that you can view videos in full 1080p HD quality. The Xperia T runs on Ice Cream Sandwich, but don’t worry, I am sure that it will run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean soon.

Sony used Qualcomm MSM8260 chipset in Xperia T, meaning a dual-core Scorpion processor at 1.5GHz with Adreno 220 GPU and 1GBof RAM. It also features a 13MP fast capture camera (with a camcorder capable of 1080p video capture) and boasts a feature Sony is calling Sleep to Snap, which means you can go from a black screen to taking photos in an instant.

A one-touch function with NFC which you can use to tap to connect to other Sony devices, a 60-day premium trial of Music Unlimited and a new tier called Access which will be available in Europe for 0.99 Euros per month and will deliver full access of the service to PCs and the PS3.
Sony Xperia T price and releas info
The Xperia T measures 129.4 x 67.3 x 9.35 mm and weighs 139g. The phone features quad-band 2G and penta-band 3G connectivity. It comes with 32GB of built-in storage, which you can expand through the microSD card slot.

The Xperia T, which will be known as the TX in select markets, and should be launching globally over the next few weeks. It will be available in black, silver and white hues. Pricing is still an unknown but I know one thing that may be important enough to make anyone interested to buy this handset. James Bond himself will be using the Sony Xperia T in the upcoming Skyfall movie.

More entertainment with Sony's media applications and Music Unlimited
Sony's media applications ("WALKMAN®", Album and Movies) combine the best of Sony's technologies and connect consumers to a variety of entertainment services. They form an integral part of the UI on Xperia smartphones, tablets and VAIO PCs to deliver a consistent and superior entertainment experience.

Through the "WALKMAN" application, consumers can easily enjoy Sony's recommended sound in ultimate clarity and presence across the entire spectrum of sound by just activating Sony's ClearAudio+ mode***. A wide variety of music can be accessed from this application, including consumer's music stored in their PCs, a list of songs "liked" by a consumer's Facebook friends and millions of songs through Music Unlimited.
The Album application combines an intuitive user interface that enables consumers to view, sort, and share pictures with an ability to consolidate photos posted on social media such as Facebook.
Consumers can enjoy video content in high picture and sound quality through the Movies application. It also provides movies synopsis from the rich database of Gracenote.
Furthermore, with Album and Movies applications, consumers can remotely enjoy their photos and movie content stored in their home digital media servers.

'One-touch' functions for content sharing
Sony is putting NFC at the heart of content sharing through its 'One-touch' function, taking NFC beyond the traditional uses such as eticketing and payments. Now, consumers can easily and instantaneously enjoy their music and photos across an array of NFC enabled Sony devices, by simply touching one to another to establish a wireless connection without a cumbersome pairing process. For example, Xperia T and Xperia V users can stream music wirelessly with 'One-touch' to the new Sony SRS-BTV5 NFC enabled speaker, also announced today at IFA.

Symphony Xplorer W100 Android review: Advantages and Disadvantages

Symphony Mobile already made good impressions with some fabulous Android phones like W50. It’s the best in its class because of its competitive price. I already reviewed it few days ago .in case of you missed it, take a look here. Now I come here today to write something about huge, huge in the sense of its coming from Symphony. Long waited Symphony Xplorer W100 sees the light just before Eid festival in Bangladesh. Symphony W100 is way ahead of W5, W10, W25 or W50. It is run by Ice Cream Sandwich Android operating system. Android there is a 4.3-inch AMOLED screen in front of your eyes to see everything your phone does. At the back there is a 8MP camera with LED flash to capture anything you want anywhere.

Symphony W100 has all the features you need these days. It has 0.3MP front camera, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 32GB memory support, 1600 mAh battery with a 1GHz CPU powering all the stuffs. It also has the sensors like Proximity, Accelerometer etc. There are also a handy numbers of useful apps built-in.
Symphony W100 advantages
Now time for the main part of my article. Let’s start with Symphony Xplorer W100 advantages-
  • 4.3" TFT AMOLED Capacitive 480 X 728 pixel touchscreen is very good
  • 1GHz CPU is enough for most of the apps
  • Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is the most desired version of Android OS now
  • PowerVR SGX 531 GPU is capable of powerful gaming
  • 2.09GB internal memory is not bad at all
  • 8MP camera sounds nice
  • Only 9.8mm thick
  • 3G, GPRS, EDGE, Video Calling, A-GPS
  • Wi-Fi 802.11, Wi-Fi Hotspot
  • Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP, microUSB v2.0
  • Office Suite, Skype, YouTube, Google Play support
  • Proximity Sensor, G-Sensor, Accelerometer sensor
  • Comparatively cheap smartphone with one year of warranty
Here are some of the disadvantages of Symphony Xplorer W100-
  • A faster CPU will be appreciated
  • 512MB RAM may not enough for multitasking.
  • LED flash is not bright enough
  • We expect a 15000 range smartphone from Symphony, not 20000 taka
Price of the Symphony Xplorer W100 is 19,990 taka ($235). There are many better alternatives from HTC and Sony are available in the market at this price range. The only problem is there are no warranty support with those smartphones. So be careful to make your choice.

Time for Android Camera now – Nikon announces Coolpix S800c

We heard the rumor for quite some times that Android powered camera is coming to the market. And Nikon is the first one to unveil their Android based Coolpix camera to the press. Nikon Coolpix S800c comes with a 16 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, 10x optical zoom, 1080p video recording with stereo sound, 3.5-inch OLED touchscreen, EXPEED C2 processor, GPS and Wi-Fi. Android 2.3 Gingerbread is used as its operating system.

Nikon follows a very interesting way to handle Android on their camera. The S800c has two modes in the software. One is the camera mode and the other is the Android mode. In camera mode S800c works like any other Nikon camera with a touchscreen. And in the Android mode it’s like a mini Android smartphone, complete with all your favorite apps from the Play Store. Of course there is no cellular connectivity, so you will have to use the built-in Wi-Fi to connect to the Internet but other than that it would pretty much behave like your average Android device.
main features of nikon coolpix s800c
The S800c also has a feature where you can wirelessly transfer images from the camera to another Android device. You will have to install an app from Nikon on the other Android device and then it syncs with your S800c over Wi-Fi and lets you transfer images. Those images then become accessible through the photo gallery on the other Android device.

The main advantages of having Android on your camera is that you can now share your pictures that you take on the camera even before you connect it to a computer. Just use one of the many apps available on the Play Store and upload it to a social network of your choice. You could even add some photo effects using the image editing applications.

The Nikon S800c will be available in September 2012 in black and white. Price of this exciting gadget will be around $349.95. Check out their official website and read the PR to know more about Nikon Coolpix S800c.

Three new COOLPIX S-series cameras that propose new possibilities for digital cameras–a Wi-Fi® compatible model equipped with Android™ OS, an extremely compact model that fits in the palm of the hand, and a slim, high-power zoom model operated via a built-in touch panel

TOKYO - Nikon Corporation is pleased to announce the release of three new COOLPIX S-series models that incorporate advanced functions in a stylish design. They are the S6400, S800c and S01.

The S800c establishes a new line in the COOLPIX S series powered by Android with built-in Wi-Fi® compatibility for operation similar to that of a smartphone and wireless Internet connection. With its backside illumination CMOS sensor with an effective pixel count of 16.0-million pixels and 10x optical zoom NIKKOR lens, however, the S800c enables capture of sharp, blur-free and beautiful images that can be extremely difficult to capture with smartphones. What's more, users can take full advantage of the camera's other features, including support for recording of full-HD movies, to upload their stunning photos and movies to social networking sites. The S800c fulfills Nikon's latest proposal for new ways to use digital cameras–Capture, View, Connect, Enjoy–all in a single, compact body.

The Android 2.3 and Wi-Fi® support for operation that feels like a smartphone and wireless Internet connection
In addition to superior basic camera performance, the S800c offers the natural operation and communications functions of a smartphone (except the phone function), making it a single product for shooting, viewing, connecting, and enjoying. Nikon proposes new ways of enjoying digital photography with the S800c and the fun it offers with network connections.

Primary functions
Simple setup and connection
Setup and text input for Internet connection using operations that are similar to those used by Android smartphones is possible.

Browse and post to social networking sites (SNS)
The beautiful still photos and movies recorded with this digital camera, as well as comments, can be posted to social networking sites such as Google+™, Facebook, and Twitter*. Not only is posting to an SNS simple, but browsing them is also smooth and easy.

Support for Google Play™ and built-in Google™ apps
Users can customize their cameras by downloading favorite apps from Google Play™. This will expand the ways in which users enjoy digital photography. A number of Google apps, including Google+™, YouTube™, Google Maps™, and Gmail™ come preinstalled on the camera.

Simple image transfer to other smart devices
The camera's Upload to Smart Device app can be used to transfer high-resolution photos and movies to smart devices running the Android or iOS operating system over a wireless connection.

Superior basic performance for shooting of images with superior image quality and definition
It is often very difficult or even impossible to capture decisive moments or telephoto shots with a smartphone. The S800c, however, is always ready for those once-in-a-lifetime images with a level of performance that ensures sharp, blur-free photos. It allows users to easily express themselves in a wide variety of ways as photos with superior image quality and definition can be uploaded directly from the camera to a SNS.

Basic performance
Equipped with a 10x optical zoom NIKKOR lens with coverage for angles of view for focal lengths from the wide-angle 25 mm to 250 mm (equivalents in 35-mm [135] format), and built-in lens-shift

vibration reduction (VR) function
Backside illumination CMOS sensor with an effective pixel count of 16.0-million pixels enables capture of images exhibiting little noise at the high sensitivities required for night

landscapes and pictures taken indoors under dim lighting
Functions for recording 1920 x 1080p/30-fps full-HD movies with stereo sound (recording of slow-motion movies that play back at 1/2, 1/4, or 1/8 normal playback speed for a dramatic effect, and fast-motion movies that play back at twice normal playback speed for a comical effect is also possible)

my Picturetown app for using Nikon's image storage and sharing service, my Picturetown
When the my Picturetown app on Google Play™ is downloaded and installed, images captured with the S800c can be easily uploaded to my Picturetown. In addition, the app can be used to browse uploaded images, or to post a URL to a specific my Picturetown album to Facebook or tweet them on Twitter. It can also be used to view a list of my Picturetown albums, to rearrange albums using drag-and-drop operations, or to change their layout. Since images stored on my Picturetown can be accessed directly from the camera, users can easily view or share them with others, almost as if they were carrying photo albums around with them.

GPS function (A-GPS* compatible) for recording position information with images
The high-performance GPS module incorporated into the camera can be used to record position (latitude and longitude) information with photos and movies as they are recorded. When the my Picturetown app is used, the place where these photos and movies were recorded can be displayed on Google Maps™.

*A-GPS, or Assisted GPS, is a system which can increase the startup performance, or time-to-first-fix, of a GPS positioning system by using extended ephemeris (EE) data. The data file used for A-GPS can be updated by downloading the latest file from Nikon's web site.
Equipped with a 3.5-inch, approximately 819k-dot widescreen OLED monitor for vivid reproduction of even the finest details

The S800c is equipped with a 3.5-inch, approximately 819k-dot widescreen, OLED touch panel monitor. The high-resolution, widescreen, VGA OLED monitor makes shooting, viewing and sharing photos more enjoyable.

The OLED enables reproduction of deeper, more vivid colors with clear and beautiful blacks in night landscapes, less loss of detail in highlights (blown highlights), and greater contrast.
With a broad color gamut, subjects are vividly reproduced. This broad color gamut enables high-definition display of not only images, but the user interface as well.

How is Android OS King of the Hill?

The marketing term "Android" is heard almost as often as 4G but what does Android actually mean? The term Android actually denotes a Linux operating system - think hardware - designed mainly for mobile applications like cell phones, such as smartphones, and tablet computers, like the iPad. An ancillary application for less sophisticated versions of Android operating system is netbooks or laptops, although this is less common.

History Lesson
Back in 2005 the juggernaut company Google purchased Android but before that Google was a key financial contributor to Android's enterprises. The reason Android is so big today is that it made a splash at an expo called the Open Handset Alliance, which is an enormous technological nexus of startup companies dedicated to future innovators in software and hardware specializing in open source or open standards for mobile applications. Open source basically means a piece of software catering to gratuitous distribution alongside full disclosure of the software's design and implementation capabilities. This expo helped launch what's known as the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), which is a project spearheaded and financed by Google dedicated to development of ongoing and creative open source applications for Android compatible devices.

Rationale and Logistics
Android just two years ago became the world's largest smartphone platform and most used operating system for smartphones around the globe. According to figures from the first quarter of the 2012 business season, three out of five phones used Android. That means that walking into a coffee shop anyone in the world (Japan, US, India, etc.) six out of ten phones would be Android compatible! Perhaps the reason Android is the top dog of the cell phone platform game is that it's open source and compatible with many carriers. Nonetheless, to keep up this dominating prowess Android must be doing something else correctly...but what? The answer is their cutting-edge programming.

Simplicity and Punch
Google does a lot of things correctly with Android but the keys to Android's success are perhaps Google's hiring of smart and creative talent alongside a platform conducive to long-term customer loyalty. The latter is perhaps more abstruse and difficult to describe but the Android, like Mac computers perhaps, appear to fluidly mesh usability, open source coding on some applications, and elegance. The OS and configuration of the Android OS is sleek and user-friendly, which keeps people coming back.
On the more technical side of Android's success, Google hired thousands of talented developers to create new applications (apps) for the Android operating system. The developers utilize open source coding and relatively simple hypertext markup languages or programming apparatuses like Java. Topnotch designers use programming languages like Java to create intuitive layouts for smartphone users. For instance, Android users have access to storage repertories like "SQLite" to handle their data and cutting edge applications like "Android Cloud to Device Messaging" that allows messages between servers, applications, carriers, and devices. The comparison to Mac seems genuine and easy because Android developers notice market trends and customer needs and respond with intuitive and elegant ideas.

Fourth Quarter
This article has detailed the stranglehold that Android has over the market share and its competitors. The reason Android is on top is because it understands that good service means listening to customers and responding accordingly. Android developers often use simple applications - via Java - to deliver big results.

Android ICS is real for LG Optimus 2X

Earlier Canadian unit of LG mobile gave us a shocker. They told us that Android ICS will not come to LG Optimus 2X ever. But after a long delay, LG headquarter from Korea confirms that the update is in the works. We are not sure yet that is it about the worldwide version of Optimus 2X or not but at least Korean customers don’t need to worry about this. Google Nexus 7 Tablet is now in Bangladesh for 25,000 taka

After a long delay Google Nexus 7 tablet is now available in Bangladesh through many importers. Least they are asking around 25,000 taka ($305) for the 8GB tab. Price of 16GB version is around 30,000 taka ($370). Like other Nexus-branded devices, the Nexus 7 tablet isn't actually hardware manufactured by Google, it’s made by Asus.

The hottest selling point of Nexus tab is its price. It’s the cheapest tab in quad-core category with the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. Powered by a quad-core Tegra 3 processor with 1GB RAM and either 8GB or 16GB of onboard storage, you have all the power needed inside to do anything. The 7-inch 1200 x 800 HD backlit IPS display packs a respectable 216 pixels per inch onto the screen. There is no hard button in Google Nexus 7. A 1.2MP front-facing camera rests at the top of the tablet, which is covered entirely by Corning glass. At the bottom of the unit is a micro-USB port, 3.5mm headphone jack and a thin speaker port.

But there are two serious problems with Google Nexus tab. There is no rear camera and it has no GSM/CDMA communication capability. Which means Wi-Fi is the only source of information. So keep in your mind.

Flexible ultra-thin AMOLED is used on Samsung Galaxy Note 2

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is announced but it seems people are interested more about Galaxy Note 2. And surprisingly Samsung rumor mill is still very quiet on this topic. This time with the help of KoreaTimes we just knew that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will utilize a 5.5-inch flexible AMOLED display. Don’t expect to bend your next Note yet, because it might only helps Samsung note make Galaxy Note 2 slightly curved. This type of AMOLED uses a Unbreakable Plane (UBP) and plastic substrate helping it reduce its thickness by 0.4mm.

0.4mm is not ringing your eye yet? Think of a 8-9mm device, on a 5.5" screen, the space saved is enough for Samsung to employ a far larger battery without making the Note 2 any thicker than its predecessor.
