Making Communications Better with Sony Xperia Z

The Xperia Z is the latest of Sony’s Xperia line of Android phones. It was released February of 2013 and has since been garnering some positive feedbacks especially when compared with its predecessors. It boasts of being the first smartphone that has an image sensor with HDR video and the one with the highest level of resistance to water.

Design. The Xperia Z is a full HD smartphone that is among the best that Sony can offer. It weighs only 146 grams and fits the hand just right with dimensions of 139 x 71 x 7.9 millimeters. The stunningly designed 4G LTE Android phone sports a 5 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors and multi-touch function (up to 10 fingers). Because of the Z’s 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution and 441 ppi pixel density, browsing through web pages seems like reading an actual magazine. The shatter proof and scratch resistant glass display is also powered by Sony’s trademark Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2.

Sony did their best to come up with one of the toughest smartphones ever made. In fact, it can withstand being submerged under one meter deep of water for up to 30 minutes. No other smartphone can claim such toughness. Speaking of toughness, the Z is enclosed in a frame made from glass fiber polyamide, the material used in cars as an alternative to some metal parts. Aside from all these, no dust can penetrate the Z.

Performance. The Xperia Z comes up on top of the heap in terms of phone specs. It has a 1.5 GHz Quad Core CPW, Qualcomm MDM9215M / APQ8064 chipset, Adreno 320 GPU and 2 GB RAM. The handset also runs on Android v4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system with plans of upgrading to the 4.2 version. As for its internal storage, you can save up to 16 GB of data in its memory. If that is not enough, you can always expand up to 64 GB with a microSD.

A smartphone is not a smartphone if you cannot successfully connect it to the Internet. And not just connect but also perform uploading, downloading and other functions at impressive speeds. The Xperia Z is able to do all these due to the following connections GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA, HSUPA, LTE, Cat3, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. Such strong Internet connectivity is the most important requirement for making voice calls. You can take advantage of this by applying for third party phones, like RingCentral VoIP Services.

Camera. Sony took the very technology that made their digital cameras so popular and placed it in their smartphones. The Xperia Z in particular gives the most stunningly vivid images possible with the help of a 13.1 megapixel resolution and the Sony Exmor RS which allows great pictures in any lighting condition. Other camera features that are sure to make your photography experience exceptional are the LED flash, HDR imaging, 4128 x 3096 pixels, and the autofocus, geo-tagging, touch focus, face recognition, image stabilization, and sweep panorama functions. The 2.2 megapixel secondary camera and the HDR-quality video recorder are both 1080p and capable of 30 frames per second.

Battery Performance. Sony’s premiere high end smartphone employs a non-removable Lithium-Ion 2330 mAh battery which has a stand-by time of up to 550 hours (2G) and 530 hours for 3G. Talk time lasts for 11 hours for 2G and up to 14 hours for 3G. Lastly, you can play music as long as 40 hours.
